me too. International Partners With Global Fund for Women to Address Sexual Violence Around the World

This partnership expands both organization’s efforts to put an end to sexual & gender-based violence in the global south.

NATIONWIDE — Today, Thursday, October 21, me too. International and Global Fund for Women are announcing a joint partnership to support local organizations in the global south working in their own communities to eradicate sexual & gender-based violence (SGBV). The announcement comes as part of ‘me too.’s fourth anniversary week of celebration, and will be discussed via a panel event featuring leaders of both organizations and international partners, highlighting the unique calls to action within the global movement to disrupt rape culture.

Although #MeToo has become a viral phrase, there is a substantial funding gap for feminist organizations doing this work.

While the harm and pervasiveness of sexual violence is global, so too is the resistance. As the ‘me too.’ movement has grown, many countries have asked to connect with efforts in the U.S. Their requests have sparked the vision of a global community that centers survivor leadership through deep cross-country relationship building and practice sharing..
