October 15, 2026

Nearly a decade after #metoo became a global rallying cry, me too. International is launching Road to 10: A Decade of #metoo, a year-long global campaign leading up to the movement’s 10th anniversary in October 2027. The campaign will commemorate a decade of disruption, celebrate the survivors and communities who have shaped the movement, and mobilize a new generation of leaders to build a future where sexual violence is no longer inevitable.

What began as a call for survivors to share their experiences became a global movement that challenged the silence surrounding sexual violence, exposed the systems that enable abuse, and expanded public conversations about power, consent, accountability, and healing. But the movement’s story has never been limited to a single moment, hashtag, or headline. It is a story of survivors who spoke out, communities that organized, advocates who demanded change, and generations of people committed to creating a different future.

Today, that work remains urgent.

Recent allegations of sexual violence on college campuses and the protests that have followed have once again brought questions of survivor safety, institutional accountability, and rape culture, into the national conversation. Students across the country are organizing, speaking out, and demanding that institutions do more than issue statements in response to sexual violence. Their actions are a powerful reminder that the next generation is not simply inheriting the legacy of #metoo; they are actively shaping what comes next.

“As we approach ten years since the movement entered the global consciousness, we have an opportunity to honor the people who brought us here while investing in the people who will carry this work forward, and connect with the next generation that is rising up,” said Tarana Burke, Co-founder and Chief Vision Officer of me too. International.

Throughout the year, me too. International will bring together survivors, advocates, partners, cultural leaders, and communities across its global network to reflect on the movement’s impact, elevate stories of disruption and possibility, and advance solutions that address sexual violence at its roots. The campaign will unfold in phases over the coming year, with new content, partnerships, and opportunities to take part. The year will culminate with the #metoo Global Day of Action, October 15, 2027, on the 10th anniversary of #metoo going viral, when survivors, allies, advocates, and leaders will be invited to act together and bring the movement back to where it has always lived: on the ground. People around the world will lead marches, organize demonstrations and direct actions, host community gatherings, unveil art installations, and hold commemorations that honor survivors and the courage it took to say “me too.”

“A decade of disruption matters because of what it makes possible next. We have seen survivors transform public conversations, communities challenge long-standing norms, and advocates push institutions to reckon with the consequences of their inaction. But recognition is not the finish line, and visibility alone is not justice,” said Dani Ayers, Co-founder & CEO of me too. International. “Road to 10 invites us to take stock of what we have built, be honest about the work that remains, and move forward together. We are not simply commemorating the past. We are building the conditions for a future in which survivors have the support they need, accountability is a norm, and the next generation does not have to fight the same battles in the same ways.”

The Road to 10 Campaign Steering Committee brings together movement leaders committed to ending sexual violence, including Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center; Monica Ramirez, Founder and President, Justice for Migrant Women; S. Mona Sinha, CEO of Equality Now; and Rachel O’Leary Carmona, Executive Director of Women’s March, among other leaders. The committee will help guide the campaign, mobilize communities, and build momentum toward the movement’s tenth anniversary and beyond, because the legacy of #metoo belongs to all of us, and building the future we deserve requires all of us, too. The full roster is available at metoomvmt.org/10th-anniversary.

This year-long campaign and mass activation will send a clear message that the movement is still here, still growing, and still demanding a future free from sexual violence.
