‘me too.’ Anniversary: Year 3

On October 15th, 2017 two words thrust into the public consciousness and ignited a global movement: #MeToo. The viral moment gave rise to a new wave of stories of sexual violence, powered by empathy and opened up a conversation about healing for generations of survivors.

Three years later, we are deeply proud to launch the next chapter of the movement’s evolution. ‘me too.’ Act Too is a breakthrough digital platform that makes taking an action to end sexual violence more accessible than ever before.

Survivors across the world have continued to lead movements and speak truth to power. We know that despite the current state of our world today, survivor leadership is essential because survivors are everywhere. In commemoration of Year 3, we invite you to celebrate all of our new offerings to the world.

Survivors' Vote

Following the Survivors’ Summit, presented by the Survivors’ Agenda (a multi-racial, multi-issue coalition formed in 2020 to center survivors and what they’re calling for from elected officials), Survivors’ Vote is an initiative that will further organize those impacted by sexual violence and create interventions in the 2020 election cycle and beyond. Survivors’ Vote will grow a digital community of survivors, supporters, and survivor-led, survivor-serving organizations that will carry forth an agenda, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all people.

Take Action

Survivor Healing Series

‘me too.’ believes that the end of sexual violence deeply relies on healing and action. In that spirit, the organization will launch its first Survivor Healing Series, an 8-week virtual workshop for trauma survivors to build skills, knowledge, and resources that support healing, agency, and body autonomy. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from some of the most powerful healing practitioners of our time, and be in community with other survivors who are committed to the work of healing and interrupting sexual violence.

‘me too.’ x HBCU Fellowship Program

Following up on its 2019 HBCU Tour, ‘me too.’ is also launching a fellowship program for HBCU students who want to develop their leadership and carry the work of the movement onto their campuses. The program will run from early November through May 2021.

The Economic Impact of COVID-19 on Survivors of Color

The economic impact of COVID-19 has been especially hard for survivors of sexual violence (SV) and intimate partner violence (IPV). This is particularly true for survivors of color, who face systemic racism alongside sexual violence during a global pandemic that has magnified existing structural inequalities in healthcare, housing, job security, and beyond. Now, new data released from ‘me too.’ International and FreeFrom provide a sobering glimpse of how COVID-19 continues to burden communities of color via the economic impact of SV and IPV.
